Weight going DOWN and strength/endurance going UP!

Ok so maybe my goals are a little extreme, but I am STILL reaching them! I am so proud of myself for finally sticking to a plan and not wavering (not even a little bit). I was watching The Biggest Loser this week and one of the girls said "You know you can do it when something clicks inside of you". Well, something definitely "clicked". I dont know what it was... maybe because I got tired of trying every diet I could and failing at them all. Maybe it was because my trainer two years ago got to busy to train me and push me along. Maybe it was because I just wasn't following his plan like he wanted me to. Hence the reason for my lack of success. I felt like a failure. Like I not only failed my trainer, but I failed myself. But the good thing was that I NEVER STOPPED TRYING. I was determined to redeem myself. So, here I am...on the road to redemption and I'm DOING IT!!! Every day I feel different. I dont let the small things keep me from going after my goals. If I dont lose weight one week, no big deal. I know I'm doing the right things. It just means I have to tweak my diet and exercise routine a little bit. And that's what I did... and BOOM... the weight is falling off of me! And I realize that I will hit plateaus. So, when those plateaus come, thats when I change it up and do something different. Whether its eat less carbs and more protein, up my cardio, change my weight lifting routing... what ever it takes I am bound and determined to reach each and every goal little by little... what ever it takes!

Well, I'm going to get some rest now. I just had to fill you all in on just a little bit of whats going on. I've been fighting the flu, or bronchitis, or strep throat, or something. Whatever it is, it sucks... especially because I have to take rest days and not work out. BUT that's not going to stop me once I'm better. :) WOOHOO!!! I am going to be so freakin' HOT this summer!!!

2 lbs shy of meeting my Feb. Goal??? I'LL TAKE IT!!!

Wooohoooo!!!!!! I am so happy. I am now officially under the 190's. Sunday morning I weighed in at 189.4! I lost 3lbs since last week. My trainer is so happy with me! So happy that she kicked my butt for an hour! She had me do a supersetting, circuit training, kick Carolyn's butt workout! OUCH! My lats are sore today (among other things). She wanted to give me a cheat meal this week for my reward. But I told her I wasn't ready for one... mentally I'm just not ready. I've been doing so good sticking to the plan that I'm afraid that one cheat meal will mess it up. So, we are going to do the cheat meal next week. *sigh* Well... its late and I'm going to bed. But I just had to share!!!

Today I had my appointment with my trainer, Cindy. I call her Jillian Michaels Junior. I'm not joking either. This girl kicks my butt every time I see her (usually twice per week). She had me start off with a quick warm up on the treadmill... then the killer warm up which consisted of these things she calls "Burpees" with a shoulder press. From that I went to reverse pull-ups, then ab work which was passing the stability ball from my arms to between my legs. Then I had to do that whole thing all over again! THEN... (yeah, i'm not done yet), she had me do shoulder presses, down to bent over rows, then finishing that off with dead lifts, then right over to ab crunches, then bicycles, then start ALL over AGAIN!... Not done yet... THEN the finale'... lying leg lifts for my lower abdominals and about 50 jumping jacks with these funny looking soccer/cheerleading kicks. Woooh!!! I was sweating and panting... she kicked my butt!!! THEN......... you thought I was done, didn't you???.... She takes me to the cardio room, puts me on the elliptical, sets it up for intervals, level 2, for 30 minutes. OUCH!! My heart was pumping, I was sweating so much it was running down my face. Wooohoooo! What a workout! And I made it thru the whole thing with out stopping, and no cheating. I am so proud of myself!!!

Oh and just to give you all an idea of what I'm eating (all Low Glycemic Index foods every 2 1/2 to 3 hours)... here's a little sample of my day:

Meal 1: 1 egg, 3 egg whites, 1 cup broccoli
1/4 cup dry old fashioned oatmeal with cinnamon and splenda

Meal 2: Protein Shake made in Blender with
1 Scoop Whey Isolate,
1 tbsp Berry Berry Sugar Free Metamucil,
1 tbsp Natural Peanut Butter
4 oz Water
5 or 6 Ice Cubes

Meal 3: 4 oz Grilled Chicken
2 Cups Romaine Lettuce or Mixed Greens Salad
1 tbsp Balsamic Vinigarette
1 Slice Ezekiel Bread

Meal 4: 1 Orange
10 Raw Almonds

Meal 5: 4 oz Flounder
1 cup Shelled Edamame (Soy Beans)

Meal 6: (only if I'm still hungry and had a late workout but no
eating right before bedtime)
1/2 Protein Shake (no peanut butter)
1 String Cheese

And of course I am drinking at least one gallon of water per day. Oh and No alcohol allowed by the way (at least not for a while). Sugar Free Red-Bull is my drink when we go out. So I can still enjoy myself, but without cheating! :)

So, that was my day today! My trainer is very proud of me and you know what??? I am VERY proud of me too! :) Woooohooooo!!!

Oh yeah, one more thing... everyone, this exercise/diet plan that I am following (which is now a way of life for me), is really so easy! I've struggled for so long and finally I've found something that works for me. If I can do this, trust me, so can you!!!! Kick butt people!! KICK BUTT!!!

My body is a furnace and I'm on FIRE!!!

Yeah, thats right! I am on FIRE! I am so happy with myself. I'm addicted to this new lifestyle that I have now. I weighed myself this morning and lost MORE weight. Yeah yeah I know... stay away from scale! Ha ha! But its being so nice to me!! :) I love it! And speaking of being addicted to a new life style... I now have a new favorite food... EDAMAME (soy beans)! Oh my goodness... these are the most delicious things I have ever had! Put a little sea salt on them and WOW! Not only are they good, but they are high in fiber and protein! So... I have 10 days left to reach my first monthly goal. I can see 187 lbs right around the corner. This morning I weighed 192.4lbs. So that leaves me 5.4 lbs to go. Can I do that in 10 days? YOU BET I CAN and I WILL TO!! :-)

Well, I am going to hit the sack. MY eyes and my body are saying "sleep... sleep... sleep...". Guess I should listen, huh? Good Night all! Mmwwaahh!

3rd day on new diet and I'm feeling GOOD

Well, last thursday I started seeing a personal trainer who is also a friend of mine "Cindy". She has been seriously kicking my butt in the gym... and what can I say except it really feels good to finally sweat like a pig! Ha ha! This past thursday she gave me my new diet to follow. I started following it religiously on Friday and I'm happy to admit that I haven't cheated one bit. Actually, I really like it. Breakfast is delicious, I especially LOVE the protein shakes with... drum roll please... all natural peanut butter (MY FAVORITE) and surprisingly Sugar Free Metamucil Berry Berry. The protein shakes are Whey Isolate which is a very low carb mix. Everything in my diet for the first two weeks are low glycemic index foods. So, as some of you probably already do, I now have to keep a food journal. AND as Cindy says "Make sure you eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours". So, its seems like I'm always eating something. Yet, my calories haven't gone beyond 1200 per day. Take that and the 600 to 900 calories that I've been burning at the gym and I am bound to lose this weight! OH speaking of losing weight... I LOST MORE! Yipeee!!! I was 194.0 this morning. I feel my first weight lose goal coming! And I know I'm going to reach it. I WILL LOSE 3 lbs this week, and 3lbs next week... and well, that one extra pound, I'm gonna try extra hard to lose that too. But I have to keep it healthy. So 3 lbs per week is what I'm pushing for. I WILL DO THIS! YEAH!!!

Ok... back to watching the Super Bowl. GO PITTSBURGH!
